Allie is a film photographer based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Born in the Bay Area, and raised in Salem, Oregon, Allie fell in love with all things analogue at a very early age. Before moving to Los Angeles, she worked as a darkroom lab tech for 3 years at Chemeketa Community College. It turned out to be a great opportunity to experiment, and create images she could be proud of without having to rely too heavily on technology. A large part of her love for photography is the process. Film is her passion, and although we live in a digital world, she’s working on finding a happy balance between the two mediums.
With an emphasis on experimental fine art photography, she’s also very much in love with shooting scenes as they are. Finding beauty in a simple scene is one of her main thrills, and is so happy to be in a place like Los Angeles, where the history is abundant, and everywhere you look seems to tell a story.
Allie processes, prints, and scans all her own film from home.
She is currently a student at Los Angeles Center of Photography.
